True-To-Trail Print:  The golden-winged warbler (Vermivora chrysoptera) is a songbird that breeds in the Appalachian Mountains and faces a severe population decline in the region. The population has declined by 98% in the Appalachian Mountains, and 66% globally since the 1960s. The Appalachian population is now mostly separate from the Great Lakes population. Forest landowners in the Appalachian region are helping the golden-winged warbler by voluntarily improving the health of their forests. You may have seen protected habitat signs along the AT for these awesome birds.

In an effort to help support their efforts 5% of the purchase price will be donated to the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy a 501(c)(3) non profit organization.
